Liverpool v Bolton: Expect a goalfest at Anfield
Liverpool host Bolton at Anfield in the Premier League in the late kick-off on Saturday. Kenny Dalglish’s side will be hoping to pick up all three points and continue their march up the table.
The Red’s last outing in the Premier League was a comfortable 2-0 victory over Arsenal at the Emirates last Saturday. It was the Merseyside’s club first win at Arsenal for 11 years and showed the definite improvement in the Liverpool squad this season.
It was a tight affair between the two sides up until the 70 minute when Emmanuel Frimpong was sent off for the Gunners. The game drastically changed then and Liverpool sensed victory. With this, Dalglish sent on Luis Suarez and Raul Meireles who changed the focus of the Liverpool attack and proved decisive as they were involved in both goals.
It was a welcomed victory for Kenny Dalglish and Liverpool as they moved to four points in the table after disappointingly drawing their opening fixture 1-1 at home to Sunderland.
Bolton were involved in their own highly entertaining game in the Premier League last weekend when they took on Manchester City at the Reebok Stadium. Owen Coyle will have been delighted with his side after they pushed the mega-stars of City all the way.
David Silva gave the visitors the lead with a shot outside the box early on before Gareth Barry put City two ahead ten minutes later. Bolton, however, didn’t fold and struck back just a couple of minutes later with an Ivan Klasnic goal.
City went ahead once again after the break with Edin Dzeko finding the net before Kevin Davies gave Bolton a lifeline with a header. The Trotters couldn’t find an equalizer but their performance will have pleased the fans. It showed that this team has fight in them and can go toe-to-toe with the big boys in the Premier League.
In the betting for Saturday’s game, Liverpool are firm favourites at 5/12 with Unibet, with a Bolton win at 13/2 and a draw at 13/4. With the confidence Liverpool will have garnered from the Arsenal victory and the determination to now really kick on with their Premier League campaign, it doesn’t look as if there will be any other result than a home victory. The Trotters haven’t beaten Liverpool home or away since the 2006/2007 season.
Liverpool don’t offer much in the way of value so another bet would be to back both teams to score at 4/5 with Unibet. Liverpool are looking good in the strike department with Luis Suarez in brilliant form, but Bolton are also finding it easy to hit the back of the net so far this season. They have already notched up six goals in two games and are well capable of scoring at Anfield on Saturday. Liverpool can drift in and out of games sometimes and can go to sleep at the back as was seen when Sunderland scored in the opening fixture of the season.
Betting Picks
This all means there could also be a few goals in this game with the two sides sharp in attack so back over 3.5 goals at 17/10 with Unibet.
